In no particular order other than alphabetly these are my top 5 Bmore Fem Cees
1. B-FLY
Lyrically she nice and she rhymes about real women shit. Not just how many dicks she can lick but real life shit. From Up against the win, to Cut N Paste, Get Buck Get Free, Natural Chic. First artist to come out of a elevator. Till this day I have not seen that done. First female emcee in Baltimore to rock with a live Band, 3back up singers she just dope. Really looking forward to her new stuff.
2. Get Em Mammies
Ter Awesome is in my car right now. They are the business. They have been able to brand themselves beyond the realms of the "local hip hop spots" but every where. There in Philly, Rolling Stones and everywhere your favorite emcee wants to be. There fan base is ridiculous these girls are the truth.
3. Ms. Stress
The Madam she just a lyrical beast. I have seen her demolish emcee's. One time it was so bad Ms. Stress started battling her self. The best damn battle I have seen.
4. Mzery Loves Company
I'm glad that Mzery has found her lane now she killing it. With her all female live band her live show is one of the best in Baltimore. She is a great example of artist going against the status quo.
5. Si-Notes
I love Si-Notes style, her boldness and personality. She got the ability to speak for all the hooded girls around the world. Looking forward to see what she morphs into.
Why is an inactive MC on the list (B Fly). I like B FLY..but she's not performing anywhere, nor has she had any projects out in two years. You can't find any other MC to fill that slot.. or does she have tenure?
ReplyDeletelol..even though B Fly hasn't been active, she's on my top 5 list also..but I feel you.. Symantyx is probably my favorite "femcee"..and she isn't really that active either.. I guess it's because they both leave lasting impressions on people..it says alot when you don't perform, or you don't perform in a while..and folks still naming you.. as one of the best.. where IS Symantyx by the way.. geeze..
ReplyDeleteIt would be hot to have all of them on one stage! Would that be possible? Has that been done?
ReplyDeletehmm.. not these 5 in particular.. I don't think that has happened..
ReplyDeleteI think Jade Fox should be in that list. I've never heard anything from B-Fly. - Amplified Videology
ReplyDeletetop list as in "ever" is cool.. but this post suggest that its real time .. not life time... btw cut and paste is my fav b fly song also..
ReplyDeleteFrom Civ Jones
ReplyDeleteShaka let me school you a little bit son son
B-FLY is back and performing and recording in 2010. Hip Hop for Haiti, Dirt Church, Ladies Verse and slew of future shows coming in 2010. Beside this is Civ top list. I don't care if you been battling, doing shows after show, album release or whatever you think in your mind classifies you of being on a scene, if your music sucks you will never be on my top.
Chin Yer sum it up nicely.
@Anonymous all this artist beside Si-Notes have been on the stage together for the "Even a Man Can Do This" all female showcase. It's also documentary and I have a copy for you hit me @divineideals@yahoo.com for more info.
Ya know, its actually been closer to 4 years since my last album. Feels awesome to know that The B-FLY XPERIENCE had such a lasting effect on the city. I work extremely hard to deliver a quality body of work, in my business and my artistic expression. not for fans or for city awards...but for myself and my God. Greatness cant be rushed or hurried along like a White T assembly line. its birthed from life experiences, its lessons, its joy and its pain. I will forever hold strong to these tenants. anything less is truly beneath me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
B
ps...4 of the 5 have performed together several times. Symantyx is great and still here. saw her at 5 seasons last night for Walt's BDAY Roast.
"...it's because they both leave lasting impressions on people" - Chin Yer (Thank you...that truly means alot to me)
ha! inactive my ass...smh.
And now, for a B-FLY oldy but goody...

Can I's make a list???
ReplyDeleteI just want to say my number 1 really.
1) Silhouette!!!!! Her flow is King Syrup.
2) Symphoni from G.E.M and no disrespect to Roxci, but c'mon, did y'all witness style wars a few years ago?
3) Jade Fox, a lot of times I don't like her actual songs but you can't deny the girls has skills. I think she needs more agressive music though.
4) B Fly, she's fly, what else can I say.
5) I can't remember her name, lol, but that youtube chick that dissed Nicki Minaj, that verse was pretty hot.
yep! sure you can! open to all.. I wanna know what everyone thinks.. thanks for the feedback/comment..@peat and @ all..
ReplyDeleteOutta sight outta mind is a good thing here in Baltimore. Weird but Oh so true. Now if you can tell me where Golden Seal are I'll give you $4.
ReplyDeletePS Ms.Stress Outta Mind Experience Coming "Spring 10"
Lol... do you think that's what it is g? for example..do you think if the mcs who perform/record less...were out more..or released more projects ....people in bmore would feel them less?
